Boab, Tree of Life

The boab tree is found through out the Kimberly. The trees produce large boab nuts that are bush tucker fruit. The boab nut are broken open to expose a white flesh that is eaten. These nuts are also carved and used as trade. The young boab tree roots are eatable bush potatoes.  The trunk of the tree acts like a sponge and absorbs water which can be tapped out for survival purposes. My father and other family members carve pictures into the boab nuts.
