Title: Boab, Tree of Life
Price: SOLDSize: 77cm (w) x 54.5cm (h) |
Boab, Tree of LifeThe boab tree is found through out the Kimberly. The trees produce large boab nuts that are bush tucker fruit. The boab nut are broken open to expose a white flesh that is eaten. These nuts are also carved and used as trade. The young boab tree roots are eatable bush potatoes. The trunk of the tree acts like a sponge and absorbs water which can be tapped out for survival purposes. My father and other family members carve pictures into the boab nuts. Natasha Parriman Lloyd
