Hidden Creek

Hidden Creek is a small creek that is surrounded by a huge mud flat. The creek is well hidden as the name suggests and is only accessible during neap tides (weak tide with little water movement). Neap tides mean the high piont of the tide is not high enough to cover the surrounding mud flat and this allows access to the creek.

women usually fish in the creek while the men spear crabs in the surrounding mangroves. The crabs can either be found in the mangrove roots or hidding in the mud which I have shown in the painting.

Mud crabs can be cooked in boiling water or straight into the hot coles of the fire.
